After you have lived in a house for a number of years you begin to get a bit bored with the current layout and decide to refurbish the place. We’ve used low VOC flat enamel from Olympia for both of our bathrooms, but for this project, we opted to upgrade to higher-quality paint. Now that the dry wall enclosure around the pipe has been partially removed we see just how much room we can add to our new kitchen space by rebuilding the enclosure tighter to the pipe.
As your renovation evolves new issues arise and sometimes the original plan is adjusted, so just ask why option A was chosen over option B etc. Lay floor and wall tiles and then grout. Thankfully, as we have not started our renovation project, it seems to be a pretty straightforward process.
A tiled wall niche in the shower cleverly creates extra storage while looking contemporary. If you’re a relative novice doing the work yourself, discuss your ideas first with a bathroom-remodeling professional, or someone at the planning department, or a knowledgeable neighbor who’s already been through the process.
Other limitations of the type of design include a lower level laundry room, no main level bathroom, shared bathroom on the upper floor with the bedrooms, and a lack of openness in the living area (particularly as compared to many contemporary designs).
Before that project could get rolling however, we had to take down all the walls on the passenger side to make room to pull out the old fridge and install the new one. We started with a couple of coat of fresh paint on the walls and woodwork.
